Job Description

As the successful candidate, you will begin working in the Trail office where you will be responsible for the detailed design of varying types of projects constructed with reinforced concrete, structural steel, timber, and masonry. Duties include analysis and calculations, interpretation of codes, preparation of drawings with technicians, and preparation of specifications. You will also perform civil/structural assessments, inspections and field reviews, prepare reports and estimates, and coordinate the activities of other team members to ensure projects are completed within allotted schedules and budgets. Additionally, you will ensure that project deliverables meet high-quality standards and work directly with our clients, continuing to build strong relationships with them.

  • Annual base salary $75,000 – $102,000 based on a number of factors including, but not limited to education and past work experience

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience in civil/structural engineering
  • Registered (or eligible for registration) as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia
  • A valid class 5 BC driver’s license
  • Excellent communication skills (spoken and written English)
  • Ability to collaborate with team members in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Technical competence and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work within budgets and schedules
  • Ability to read drawings

 Additional Assets

  • Experience working with the BC Building Code
  • Experience in designing with steel, concrete, timber and/or masonry
  • Industrial structural analysis experience
  • Experience in a consulting environment
  • Experience in a construction setting
  • Experience in Microsoft Office, S-Frame, and AutoCAD
